Newcastle University and INTO Newcastle University is inviting talented International students for its Foundation Scholarships to study post-secondary courses leading to admission into undergraduate degrees at the University. INTO Newcastle University’s academic programmes have been carefully designed with the University to help give the highest quality preparation for undergraduate and postgraduate study. A range of programmes and courses are offered to international students who need additional support to meet the academic and English language requirements for direct entry to university.
The scholarships have been created to assist international fee-paying students, who need to complete a Foundation programme before enrolling on a Newcastle University undergraduate degree programme.
Any INTERNATIONAL fee-paying student from any nationality, who needs to complete a Foundation programme before enrolling onto an undergraduate degree programme at Newcastle University i eligible to apply.
The following are eligible:
- All international fee-paying students
- Students who have completed 12 years of schooling (or the local equivalent to meet the same standard) with good grades
- Students must have a minimum English language proficiency equivalent to IELTS 5.5 for specified degree programmes.
- Students must be a minimum of 17 years old.

The scholarships are for the following programmes:
- International Foundation in Architecture
- International Foundation in Business and Management
- International Foundation in Humanities and Social Sciences
- International Foundation in Physical Sciences and Engineering
- International Foundation in Biological and Biomedical Sciences

10 scholarships in total will be granted
Covers the length of the Foundation programme
Each scholarship is to the value of £17,500, or £17,900 for the Architecture pathway.
The first half of the scholarship, £8,750 (or £8,950 for Architecture) will be deducted from your International Foundation tuition fees. Upon successful completion (and subject to achieving specified grades for entry), scholarship students entering degree programmes at Newcastle University as international students will receive a further scholarship valued at £8,750 (or £8,950 for Architecture), towards Year 1 tuition fees.
