Would you like to be part of the first edition of the fully funded Youth for Gender Equality Forum that will be held in European Parliament in Brussels from 2-4 March 2016.? This is a fully funded youth event which will discuss Gender equality as a fundamental right of the human race. Even when the EU has adopted several texts to ensure equal opportunities and treatment for men and women and to combat all forms of discrimination based on sex, however, very little progress has been made in that regard and huge inequalities still exist. Even though the CJEU has clarified that gender equality law also applies to equal treatment for transgender people, this principle is unevenly enforced across the EU.
The 2016 fully funded Forum is looking to invite 25 young motivated individuals, 20 EU nationals and 5 from non EU countries, aged 18 to 25. Successful candidates are usually motivated, proactive and engaged in gender equality/women’s rights activism, with good communication skills, and will share the core values of the Socialists and Democrats. You must be proficient in both spoken and written. English. This is a must as there will be no interpretation during the forum.
The S&D Group will consider gender balance in the selection process.
Costs: It’s a fully paid forum as such travel expenses, accommodation, and visa costs will be covered by the organizers.
You are advised to apply as soon as possible, on the basis of what is possible, the organizers can accomodate the first 250 applications. Deadline for applying is 17 January 2016.
